Dr Karan Shah

Veterinarian (BSc DVM)

Karan heralds from Mumbai, India but graduated from the University of Melbourne. He previously worked in Sunbury until he could join the team at Diggers Rest Animal Hospital. He enjoys all aspects of Veterinary practice but has a particular passion for surgery as well as pocket pets (rabbits etc) and wildlife.

Karan lives locally and has a much loved greyhound called Hazel. Hazel loves going for walks and sleeping but her favourite place is the beach where she can really run free!

When not tending to our four legged family members, Karan likes to do yoga or head for the outdoors - camping and hiking and he is also learning how to play the Indian flute. Friends and family play a huge role in Karans life and he values them highly.

Karan is known by the other staff for his caring nature as well as his positive attitude and easy laugh.


Dr Katie Lee

Veterinarian (BSc DVM)

Katie was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and moved to Melbourne 3 years ago. Her cats Latte and Kuro were her motivation to pursue veterinary medicine as a career.

Katie loves problem-solving and working with all types of animals no matter big or small. The coolest species she's worked with include harbour seals and fruit bats. Her special interests include diagnostic imaging, internal medicine and pathology.

During her free time, Katie enjoys photography, longboarding and playing musical instruments (she can play 7). She is also fluent in Mandarin.
